What can YOU do as a parent?

Know child’s condition (severity)
Regular doctor’s checkups (6 months)
Know triggers
Ensure that child knows medication
Know first aid

 Allergen prevention is the best measure of reducing your child's symptoms of asthma. Here are some long term/short term things YOU can do in your household to make it asthma friendly.
Short term
High efficiency vacuum cleaner
Allergen impermeable mattress/pillows
Smoking cessation
Extermination of cockroaches
Heavy duty bleach to kill mould
Reduce clutter in bedroom (soft toys)
Clean air filter
Wash bed linen in hot water (+54C)
Long term
Reduce the humidity (get air con)
Reduce carpet (get floorboards/tiles)
Have bedrooms above ground
Replace drapes with blinds
